leadership tip: I am often in awe at how quickly executives make important decisions. It is a trained art, which must be applied to oneself as well as team members. When disputes arise, an effective leader will view the situation as an opportunity. Acting quickly to slow the conversation will alleviate increasing drama. Separating emotions, while sticking to the facts, allows a leader to assess with poise, fairness and rational thinking. With resolution, the leader is praised and team mentality ensues.
